Help Struggling 4th Grade Math & Science Teacher in North Philly fill empty classroom!
Teachers are responsible for coming to work with the items needed to fill their classroom. The funds for this comes out of our own pockets.
I cannot afford to do so this school year, and I am starting at a new school, teaching different subjects and a new grade.
Please don’t allow my students to come to school on August 27 to an empty, disappointing classroom. I work at a majority black and low income school, in a very rough neighboorhood. My students deserve more than what I can give them financially.

Please note: School starts for teachers here next Monday, August 20th, 2018. I will be expected to set up my classroom during that week. As of now, I only have what one can see under purchased from the list. That is all I have. It’s not enough. Please help me and my students.
8/18 – Got some amazing donations yesterday but there’s been a clear stall! Please don’t stop spreading and making those donations! Lots of items are still on there, like baskets for classroom materials, storage bins, folders for student work etc. Thank you for all the love!

Desperately need pencil cups, laminator, laminating sheets, large binders, sheet protectors, more printer paper, chart paper, markers for chart paper…

8/20 9:47 AM – Really in need of dry erase contact paper! My classroom is almost completely blackboards. This is out of date and makes teaching and writing harder. Also in desperate need of the shredder on the list, and other supplies mentioned above! Please please please help!
8/20 9:57 AM – Sad to say but I really need those larged closed containers to store my personal belongings. They are expensive but so needed. Glue traps near my personal (it locks) classroom closet which means there are mice. I need to be able to keep my lunch and other items safe from little friends. Please understand how important this is!

i know we are all struggling, but these kids are our future and they literally can’t learn without school supplies and in our fucked up society that financial burden is put on teachers who barely make enough to live, let alone provide almost all classroom supplies for around 50 students.
