We always talk about how women in magazines are an unrealistic role model for young girls; there’s no difference between that and the way men are portrayed to the gay community. We all want to talk about inclusivity and open minds but then how come all drag merch is marketed by half naked male models? Tumblr is the worst for this too because all I see on my dash is conventionally, stereotypically attractive men. Why is it okay that we promote an unrealistic standard for gay men? It’s the origin of the masc4masc type bullshit that so many people uphold. This is not an issue for the entirety of the gay community but it is a major theme that I’m tired of seeing.
